Our Week in Kindergarten
Thank you for all of the shoeboxes. We even have a few extra. If you would like to come to Kindergarten and help wrap boxes with butcher paper, we would appreciate the help. We finished reading Charlotte’s Web this week. The children enjoyed the book and engaged in lively discussions. Please try to arrive at school in a timely fashion. It is so important for students to begin their days focused and calm.
We had an Ocean Guardian assembly on Thursday. Middle school presented a Robotics project and a group of students performed a skit about our how our garbage affects the animals in the ocean. March 16-20 will be a Zero Waste week.
We had a Lock Down drill on Wednesday. We practiced waiting quietly in the safety of our classrooms. We then exited the building for an all school reunification. Please discuss the various types of drills that we have at school with your child. They may have more questions or wish to practice a fire or earthquake drill at home.
Please go through your child’s Green Folder on Friday. We include the weekly newsletter and some samples of your children’s artwork and writing. They are very excited to share their work with you.
Our Valentine’s Day party will be on Friday, February 13 @ 2:00 in our classroom. The sign-up Genius is available for party supplies. Remember to give your children plenty of time to work on writing names on 23 Valentine’s cards that you buy or make. Please let us know if you have any questions about the party or cards.
We look forward to seeing you all for conferences on the week of February 16-20. Please make sure that you have signed up for a conference time or contacted us to set up an alternative time. If you have had any difficulties reading your child’s narrative report card, please check with Mary Dowson. She can also print a hard copy of this document.

· Valentine’s Day party @ 2:00 on Friday, February 13
· Parent Teacher Conferences February 16-19 @ 4-5:30 & February 20 8:00-5:30
· Spring Break February 21-March 8

Vicki Copeland and Manon Pratt
